You may have listened to Ezra Klein's discussion "Did Boomers Ruin America?" in April 2021 with Helen Andrews and Jill Filipovic. Now we're bringing the two commentators to the University at Albany to discuss why millennials are upset with their parents' generation.
Definitions:
Baby Boomers: Those born from 1946 through approximately 1964.
Generation X -- Those born between 1966 and 1980.
Millennials (Generation Y) -- Those born from 1980 to 1995.
Helen Andrews, conservative columnist, is the senior editor
of The American Conservative, former managing editor of The
Washington Examiner, and former associate editor of The
National Review.
Her recent book is Boomers: The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster (2021). Noted Stanford University literary scholar Terry Castle said, “Baby Boomers (and I confess I am one): prepare to squirm and shake your increasingly arthritic little fists. For here comes essayist Helen Andrews.” Photo credit: Jon Meadows
Jill Filipovic, journalist, lawyer, and weekly columnist for CNN who champions feminism in American politics and culture, is the author of OK Boomer, Let's Talk: How My Generation Got Left Behind (paperback, 2020).
The Washington Post said, “Particularly relevant in an election year...This book is full of data—on the economy, technology, and more—that will help millennials articulate their generational rage and help boomers understand where they’re coming from.”
