A poem for Election Day

June Jordan

On the occasion of Election Day, let's pause and savor this short poem by June Jordan (1936-2002).

She authored more than 25 major works, including 10 collections of poetry, five books of essays, two plays, a novel and eight children's books, and we had the pleasure of hosting her for an event at the University at Albany in 2000.
