Proctors in Schenectady is offering a discount on tickets for its upcoming stage production of "Life of Pi," which runs from February 18-23.

The stage production is based on Yann Martel’s 2001 Man Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name about a young Indian boy named Pi who survives a shipwreck and is stranded on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean for months, sharing the boat with a Bengal tiger, while exploring themes of faith, survival, and the power of storytelling.
Winner of three Tony Awards®, “Life of Pi” is "an exhilarating evening of theater” (The Wall Street Journal) and the Variety review praised the "astonishing, constantly surprising magic of the show’s sheer theatricality." The production at Proctors runs from February 18-23.
In 2010, Martel received a letter from President Barack Obama that said: "My daughter and I just finished reading Life of Pi together. Both of us agreed we prefer the story with animals. It is a lovely book — an elegant proof of God, and the power of storytelling. Thank you." In 2012 the book was was adapted into a feature film directed by Ang Lee.
Use code RICHARD for 20% off* your tickets. ("Richard Parker" is the name of the Bengal tiger in the book/stage show.)
